「すみなすものは心なりけり」＝世の中や出来事をどう捉えるか、面白いと感じることができるかはそれを見つめる本人の心の持ち方次第である、という意をタイトルとしたグループ展です。
日本の風土で培われた豊かな感性と独特の視点で現代の世相を見つめ、時に不条理でつまらなく思えるような世の中を、ユーモアや皮肉、ブラックジョークを織り交ぜながらそれぞれの遊び心で屈折・変換し作品に投影する作家たち。
戯画や風刺画、漫画的な表現など作家ならではの手法で描かれる｢すみなすものは心なりけり｣な作品をお楽しみください。

The title of this group exhibition “すみなすものは心なりけり” means that how we perceive the world and the events around us—and whether we are able to find them interesting—depends on our own state of mind. Drawing on distinctive sensibilities and perspectives shaped by Japan’s cultural environment, the participating artists examine contemporary society. Through humor, irony, and dark wit, they playfully distort and transform a world that can sometimes seem absurd or uninspiring, projecting their individual interpretations into their work.
Please enjoy these works, which employ the artist’s unique techniques, including caricature, satire, and manga-inspired expression to challenge and unsettle conventional ways of seeing the world.
